The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted last week to transfer $500,000 to the new parking deck fund to prevent a deficit.

This money comes from the general fund.

The expectation was that this fund would be self-funded with revenue from parking fees paid by county employees and visitors to the Marietta Square, according to Jim Pehrson, director of the Office of Finance and Economic Development, in a Sept. 22 memo.

Revenues were expected to increase because of the recent move of the Cobb County Juvenile Court from County Services Parkway to the new location on Waddell Street at the Marietta Square, he added.
