Clayton County Schools is delaying the opening of the new gymnasium at Jonesboro High School.

The facility was supposed to make its debut Tuesday, but recent inclement weather slowed completion of the work to get it ready in time, the district said.

“As soon as a new event date has been confirmed, we will communicate this information to all stakeholders,” the district said in an email.

The gym is part of a $45.8 million renovation and new construction project at the school. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2020.
