The Clarkston Public Safety Committee will discuss the consequence for possession of one ounce or less of marijuana during a meeting today at 5 p.m. at 3921 Church St. The committee will consider whether issuing a ticket for the possession is more appropriate than arresting the possessor. Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry will attend the meeting along with the committee chair Mario Williams and vice chair Dean Moore.

A number of speakers are scheduled to address the audience, including Stephen Bradley from Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and Kenneth Glasgow from the Formerly Incarcerated People movement. The public will also be given the opportunity to give input.
