Atlantans, including arts organizations, artists and other interested parties, are asked to fill out the ARTS Funding Sales Tax Questionnaire to share how a proposed one-tenth of a penny sales tax for arts funding could be used.

Mayor Kasim Reed announced in his State of the City address in February his intention to pursue the special purpose local option sales tax and would need the approval of Atlanta voters. Reed will seek the Georgia General Assembly’s OK to put the sales tax on the November ballot. After state legislature approval, Reed would present a proposal for the tax to the public, city officials said.
