The Duluth City Council voted 4-1 last week in favor to enter into an agreement with ETJ Downtown, LLC to purchase a little over a quarter acre parcel of land for $100,018. The 0.2937-acre parcel is currently used for parking at the corner of Main and Knox streets.

For the foreseeable future, the city plans to continue using the property, located between the old Huthmakers Violin shop and Smiths Art gallery, for parking without any further improvements. SPLOST funds for 2014 will be used to make the purchase.
