Atlanta police Tuesday were investigating a hit-and-run with a twist on Ponce de Leon Avenue.
Officers responding to a report just before 8 a.m. that a child on a bicycle had been hit by a car on Ponce de Leon at North Highland Avenue discovered that the child actually ran into the car on a bike, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.
Jones said the mother came to the scene, picked up the child and left before police got there.
Jones didn’t know the age of the child or whether the child was injured, since the child was no longer there when police arrived.
