The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved bringing on an additional concessions operator for county recreational facilities.
Smokin’ Grill was selected to run the concessions at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex and Riverside Athletic Complex, both at J.J. Biello Park, after NANS Concessions asked to exit the J.J. Biello facilities, according to a staff report to commissioners.
“Logistically, it has become a burden to NANS to have multiple locations spread out over the county,” staff said. “Smokin’ Grill Concessions LLC, managed by Patrick and Monica Orrico, has agreed to take over both J.J. Biello Park concessions.”
NANS will continue managing concessions at Patriots Park and the Softball Complex at Hobgood Park. The NANS agreement was extended for an additional three years. Since Smokin’ Grill is a new parks contractor, its agreement is for one year with an option to renew for two additional years, based on its performance.
Annual revenues to the county will be $7,000 under each of the Smokin’ Grill and NANS agreements.
