Cherokee County has announced it is accepting applications for the 2018 distribution of federal Community Development Block Grant funds, and application preparation workshops have been scheduled for the coming weeks.
Instructions for developing proposals are included in the application packet available at www.cherokeega.com or the Cherokee County CDBG Program Office, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton GA 30114. Application workshops are set for 3 p.m., May 23, and 9 a.m., June 8, at the county administration building at the Bluffs Parkway address.
Applications are available for the acquisition or construction/renovation of public facilities; public services non-capital cost projects; and affordable housing projects. At least 70 percent the persons served with CDBG-assisted programs must be low- or moderate-income individuals.
Cherokee County provides assistance to government agencies and nonprofit organizations. All proposals are due on or before 4 p.m., June 30.
