Responding to Gov. Brian Kemp's directive that Georgia schools remain closed through April 24 to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Cherokee County School District announced all special events, extra-curricular activities, and community leases of district facilities have been canceled through that date.

Digital Learning Days, with students and teachers communicating over the internet, will continue through April 3; pause for spring break, April 6-10; and resume April 13-24, the district said.

“Also during this extended closure, CCSD will continue providing technology, Canvas and other learning support, as well as the #CCSDserves to-go meal program,” the district said.

“Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower again expressed how much he appreciates the dedication of our students, parents and employees during this challenging time: We are here to support you — we are all in this together.”
