Several cities in DeKalb County announced a partnership recently to work together making community improvements. Government leaders in Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody have formed the Peachtree Gateway Partnership a nonprofit entity to create a strategic plan for improving and promoting the area. The plan includes branding and improvements such as a connected trail network.
The Peachtree Gateway Partnership was launched by Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst, Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson, Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman and Dunwoody Mayor Denis Shortal, with assistance from the Atlanta Regional Commission. The combined area is home to DeKalb Peachtree airport, three MARTA rail stations and the vacant former General Motors site that is ready for redevelopment.
