Cobb County tennis courts, playground equipment and safety material will receive upgrades from cell tower funding.

The Cobb Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 Tuesday to spend $1,085,321 in revenues from cell towers in county parks for the maintenance, resurfacing and repair of tennis courts at various parks with improved lighting and replacement of playground equipment and safety material at various parks.

Tennis courts to receive improvements are at Big Shanty Park, Fair Oaks Park, Larry Bell Park, Lost Mountain Park, Oregon Park, Rhyne Park, Sewell Park, Shaw Park, Sweetwater Park and Wild Horse Creek Park.

Playground equipment will be replaced at Lost Mountain Park, Milford Park, Perry Parham Park, Sewell Park and Shaw Park.

The playground safety surfaces of engineered wood fiber will be replenished or replaced at:

East Cobb Park, Fair Oaks Park, Fullers Park, Harrison Park, Kennworth Park, Lions Park, Lost Mountain Park, Mud Creek Park, Nickajack Park, Noonday Park, O. C. Hubert Park, Oregon Park, Perry Parham Park, Pitner Road Park, Powder Springs Park, Rhyne Park, Sandy Plains Park, Sewell Park, South Cobb Recreation Complex, Terrell Mill Park, Thompson Park, Tramore Park, Wallace Park and Wild Horse Creek Park.
