The service is only for those living inside the Canton city limits. The collection site will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, excluding holidays. After Christmas, it also will open each day of the week, Dec. 26-30, to receive excess trash from the holiday.
Acceptable items include old lumber, metal, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, air conditioners, water heaters, carpeting, household furniture, and freezers and refrigerators emptied and tagged as Freon-free. Items not accepted include food-related trash; paints, chemicals and oils; brush and leaves; and roof shingles and tires. Commercial dumping and dump trucks and trailers will not be allowed.
