Re-configuration of I-285 at Camp Creek Parkway into a six lane Diverging Diamond Interchange will include three westbound lanes and three eastbound lanes on the bridge over the expressway. This concept would require only minor modifications to the bridge to accommodate this additional lane. Currently two east and westbound through lanes exist.

When finished, the I-285 bridge at Camp Creek will look similar to the one on I-285 at Ashford-Dunwwody near Perimeter Mall. It should ease and/or alleviate much of the constant traffic congestion, as well as reduce accidents, by making it easier to make left turns. Construction is scheduled to begin by fall and will take about 18 months to complete.

This project will cost $10 million and is completely federal and state funded and managed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
