Business returned to normal at the Fulton County Jail Friday afternoon, hours after a suspicious package investigation prompted officials to place the facility on lockdown.

The suspicious package was found outside jail on Rice Street just before 10 a.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

At one point, Jefferson Street was blocked, the television station reported.

Just before 12:30 p.m., Fulton sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the “suspicious [package] investigation is over.

“The all clear was issued at noon. The lockdown was lifted after 2 p.m. The suspicious package was a rectangular case later determined not to be a threat It was destroyed.”

All inmates and staff inside the facility were fine, according to Channel 2.
