Buford is in the early stages of developing a 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. The process will include the opportunity for citizens to provide input through two online surveys, and a series of public meetings. The first public hearing is scheduled for July 16 at City Hall, 2300 Buford Highway; time to be determined.
The Comprehensive Plan is the city’s strategy for the future addressing land use, transportation, housing, economic development and quality of life. The revised plan will address Buford’s vision for 2040 through assessment of existing conditions and community engagement. It serves as a holistic policy document that guides in creating long-term decisions that positively impact the future of the community.
A periodic update to the plan is required to meet state requirements to maintain Qualified Local Government Status and remain eligible for state and federal assistance funding.
