The Berkeley Lake City Council agreed recently to fund stromwater inspections needed to complete the city’s Annual Stormwater Report for 2016-2017 that is due June 2017. Generally, the work includes inspections of catch basins and stormwater outfalls, highly visible pollutant source inspections at several sites and industrial facility inspections.
The purpose of these inspections is to protect local waterways by ensuring pollutants are kept out of storm drains and that drains are working properly.
Keck & Wood Inc. will assist the city by conducting the field inspections and site visits and prepare the required inspection report forms. The city approved funds not to exceed $13,000 for the project.
Funding exists within the 2016 budget to allow the work to be completed by the end of this year.
