Two employees of a southwest Atlanta barbershop were arrested Tuesday afternoon when drug officers executed a search warrant at the business.
Atlanta police spokesman Curtis Davenport told the AJC that the Upper Cuts shop on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive had been under surveillance by the department’s drug squad prior to Tuesday’s raid, and that officers had witnessed drug transactions taking place.
Police arrested Trougett Cooper, 35, after finding him in possession of 16 Ecstasy pills, Davenport said. He said Cooper, a convicted felon, was also carrying a .32-caliber handgun.
A second employee, Theophilus McDaniel, 31, was arrested for marijuana possession, according to Davenport.
