“Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play and the highways collapse like every day.”

That’s just one way Atlantans have been describing their home city following a series of seriously unfortunate infrastructure fails.

The latest disaster? A sinkhole shut down a popular street in Midtown Wednesday afternoon.

It started with the I-85 bridge collapse and fatal U.S. 78 road-rage shooting on the eve of April 1, followed by the Braves foam tomahawks spill on I-75 last week.

On Monday, April 17, Atlantans woke up to a toxic chemical spill on the downtown connector and later, a buckled section of I-20 that was described by a paramedic as a bump in the road that "just started getting higher and higher."

It’s no surprise after all of these incidents — not to mention the added traffic gridlock to Atlanta’s already problematic traffic — that Atlantans have a lot of feelings about it all.

Some are even putting the blame on the Falcons' Super Bowl loss.
