Fees for online, telephone water bill payments discontinued

The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management recently announced that all online and telephone bill payment convenience fees have been discontinued. As of Oct. 1, paying water/sewer service bills have become a little less expensive.

For customer convenience, the department offers several bill paying options:

• By phone - Pay over the phone using a MasterCard, Visa or Discover card by calling 404.546.0311, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

• By smartphone/tablet – Make payments with the Atlanta Go app. Download the app at Google Play or iTunes

• Night Deposit Drop Box is available at the 68 Mitchell Street entrance of Atlanta City Hall. (Leave checks or money orders only)

• Customer Service Center - Payment windows are available on the first floor of Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave. SW. Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards are accepted. Hours of operation 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

• An additional location for bill payments and customer care has been added at 2 City Plaza (72 Marietta Street). All meter applications will move to 2 City Plaza which has access to free and convenient parking as well as easy access to the Five Points MARTA Station.

Cosponsored by PEDS, a pedestrian advocacy group, for their WALKtober initiative to help Atlantans find new places to walk to, and new people to walk with, in their neighborhoods.   • Zine Workshop with Alexa Lima. 3 p.m. Saturday. Free. Cleveland Avenue Library, 47 Cleveland Ave. SW. Alexa Lima of hip hop collective WAKE will lead a workshop, teaching participants, ages 8 and above, the basics of creating their own zine.   • Haunted Hall of Fame. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. $18.99 to $21.99, free for children ages 3 to 12 if they are dressed in costume but $17.99 if not, free for children under 3 and active/retired military with valid ID, parking extra at Georgia World Congress Center. College Football Hall of Fame, 250 Marietta St. NW. Field of Screams, a spooky scavenger hunt, candy cauldrons, haunted hallways. Each fan will receive a two-sided card with the scavenger hunt details and a trick-or-treat bag from the box office.   • Little Hands, Big LOVEFEST by Children Helping Children. 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Free but parking fee at Park Tavern, 500 10th St. NE. Event at Piedmont Park, 1320 Monroe Drive.
