The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs recently announced the launch of The Mayor’s Gallery at City Hall, an initiative to celebrate the contributions made by Atlanta’s art community to the City while fostering an environment of creative expression for Atlanta’s next generation of artists, according to a press release.

“The Mayor’s Gallery will be a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent and an opportunity for our city to honor the critical role played by Atlanta’s art community,” said Camille Love, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. “The ability to create and inspire is a most precious gift, and it is my hope that this gallery will inspirit Atlanta’s art scene to flourish for years to come.”

The Mayor’s Gallery at City Hall will be a space to promote and exhibit the works of accomplished Atlanta-based artists who have yet to garner gallery representation or receive major recognition for their artwork. Artists will be selected through a review process and will need to show a clear individual voice and a great quality of execution.

This temporary exhibition aims to help emerging and underrepresented Atlanta art professionals, new creatives of note as well as new Atlanta arrivals deserving of a showcase. With the gallery set at the entry of the Mayor’s Executive suites, visiting officials, dignitaries and citizens will experience a welcoming and diverse example of art and culture in Atlanta.

Submissions for review should be directed to Kevin Sipp, Project Coordinator at Gallery 72 at ksipp@atlantaga.gov and include a digital portfolio, artist statement, artist resume with contact information, biography and an artist headshot.
