Classes are cancelled for the rest of the day at Georgia State University’s Clarkston campus because its water has been shut off.

Andrew Cauthen, a spokesman for DeKalb County, said workers had to turn off the water across the entire campus in order to repair a water meter where a gasket blew out. The county anticipates those repairs will be completed today in order for classes to resume as normal on Friday.

Andrea Jones, GSU's spokeswoman, said the water was turned off around noon. The university sent out alerts and posted on social media about closing down for the day shortly after.

Only the GSU campus in Clarkston is affected by the water outage, Cauthen said.
