Newly elected state Rep. Doreen Carter is holding two community listening sessions before the 2016 session of the Georgia General Assembly begins next month.

Carter, D-Lithonia, said she wants to hear from residents about the needs of their communities.

Carter won a special election Nov. 3 to represent 54,000 residents in House District 92, which covers parts of DeKalb and Rockdale counties.

The community meetings will be held Dec. 14 at Lithonia City Hall at 7 p.m. and Dec. 17 at the Conyers-Rockdale Library at 6:30 p.m.
