Newt Gingrich on Wednesday announced he was buying airtime on television in select states to show a 30-minute video of him talking about energy policy.

The campaign would not say in which states the spot would run or when, although campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond confirmed that Gingrich has purchased time on the Spokane, Wash., NBC affiliate. Washington state votes March 3, three days before Georgia and nine other states.

Titled "$2.50 per Gallon Gasoline, Energy Independence and Jobs -- An Address by Newt Gingrich," the speech details Gingrich's plans to grow the economy by lowering the cost of energy.

A campaign spokesman said the video is a response to Mitt Romney's "30-second attack ads filled with garbage."

Also, Gingrich spokeswoman Susan Meyers said the former Georgia congressman and speaker of the U.S. House will visit his old hometown of Carrollton on Tuesday and make a two-hour stop at the state Capitol on Feb. 29. Other stops on Gingrich's bus tour include Dalton and Rome on Tuesday, and Covington and Gainesville on Feb. 29. More cities could be added later, Meyers said.
