Lindsay Forlines, who’s completing her first four-year term as Avondale Estates commissioner, told the AJC Monday she won’t run for re-election.

Meantime Mayor Jonathan Elmore, elected in March to complete the term of Ed Rieker, will run again, as he’s insisted for months. John Quinn, also completing his first term, has announced that he too will run again.

Forlines, 34, youngest of the five commissioners, said she simply doesn’t have time for the job. Sixteen months ago she returned to full-time work for her law practice at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith’s Atlanta office. She also has two children ages 4 and 2.

Qualifying for the Nov. 3 election is 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-4:30 p.m., August 31-September 4 at Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza.
