DeKalb residents curious about how the county’s newest senior center is shaping up can attend an event tonight to learn more about the project.

An open house will be held at Antioch A.M.E. Church from 6 to 8 p.m. The church is located at 785 S. Hairston Road in Stone Mountain.

Staff will provide an update on the project status and its design. Members of the community will also be asked to provide input on finishing touches.

The 21,000-square-foot senior center is being built at 4875 Elam Road, and plans include a swimming pool. DeKalb County commissioners signed off on using a $7.4 million federal loan to finance the project.
