A vote is scheduled for Wednesday on whether to approve a 35-home DeKalb County subdivision that would be built near an old landfill.

The Mt. Zion-Lavista Community Group, which opposes the development near Nelms Drive, says the landfill contains toxic materials that are dangerous to public health.

The DeKalb County Planning Commission will consider the issue at 6 p.m. in the Maloof Auditorium in Decatur.
