Johns Creek has been dubbed the safest city in Georgia by SafeWise, a company that provides information on, and analysis of, the home security industry.

SafeWise said it ranked the 40 safest cities in the state by analyzing the most recent FBI Crime Report data, checking the number of violent and property-related crimes, and calculating how those crimes were reported per 1,000 people.

SafeWise said the data revealed that Johns Creek had .43 violent crimes per 1,000 people and 7.36 property crimes per 1,000, for a crime rate that is 75 percent less than the national average. The publication lauded Johns Creek for innovative safety programs like PACT (Police and Community Together) and the SHIELD Business Watch program.

Milton also made the list at number four, reporting .22 violent crimes per 1,000 and 11.72 property crimes.
