Twenty teens were arrested in Jackson County after a Friday night party involving underage drinking, authorities said Monday.

One of the teens allegedly tried to avoid arrest, hit a patrol car and nearly ran over a deputy sheriff, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

That teen faces the most serious charges: aggravated assault, fleeing and attempting to elude, damage to government property and obstruction, according to reports.

The other teens, who range in age from 17 to 19, were charged with underage possession of alcohol.

Authorities said the arrest followed an anonymous tip that a party was taking place in an open field off Waterworks Road.
