Police are investigating a possible dognapping which took place Saturday at a Petco in Palm Beach Gardens.

According to Palm Beach Gardens police, the owner of an 11-year-old Maltese mix named "Teddy" dropped him off for grooming services at the Petco on Legacy Avenue.

At approximately 7:53 p.m., a white female with black hair between 40 and 50 years old, wearing a blue shirt and pink pants, picked up Teddy and left the store.

An employee reached at the store said workers weren’t allowed to comment on the investigation.

Palm Beach Gardens police say they are following up on investigative leads with Petco and asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 561-799-4445.
