Forsyth man killed in Friday truck fatality

A Forsyth County man was killed when he over corrected his pickup truck into the path of an oncoming flatbed truck on Bannister Road at Concord Drive about 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Forsyth County officials told Channel 2 Action News a 2005 Ford F150 that driven by Taylor Oliver, 18 of Cumming, was traveling east bound when it left the roadway on the right. The vehicle attempted to get back on the roadway and lost control, sliding sideways into the westbound lane.

The vehicle traveling west bound was a Ford F350 flatbed truck hauling a 24ft trailer that was loaded with a bobcat front end loader, the station reported.

As the F150 slid broadside into the west bound lane the F350 struck the F150 on the passenger side door area. On impact both vehicles left the roadway and went down the embankment.

The two occupants of the F350 were not injured. Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries to his head.

There are no charges expected, the sheriff’s office told the station.

The fatality was the second in two days on Forsyth County roads, Channel 2 reported. .

A single-vehicle crash Wednesday night at Dr. Bramblett Road and Milford Trail in north Forsyth claimed the life of one West Forsyth High School student and injured another.

Caleb Ammons, 17, died after he was thrown from a southbound 1998 Honda Civic when it left Dr. Bramblett in a curve and went down and embankment.
