Gwinnett County Public Schools has narrowed to six the finalists for its Teacher of the Year, it was announced Wednesday. They are: Heather Watkins, Mulberry Elementary; Stacey Dunlap, Simpson Elementary; Lissette McRea, Berkmar Middle; Carol Williams, Summerour Middle; Ashley Allgood, Brookwood High; and Hyunjin Son, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. A selection committee comprised of GCPS educators narrowed the field from 26 semifinalists. Teacher of the Year will be announced at a banquet Nov. 7.
