Lois Matykowski had long ago given up on any hope of finding her original wedding ring.
It vanished five years ago and a search of every nook and cranny of the Matykowski home failed to turn up any sign of it.
Little did she know that the ring had always been just an arm’s length away.
The mystery of the missing ring began unraveling two weeks ago on blistering hot Midwestern day.
Matykowski and her granddaughter were eating popsicles outside.
The family’s dog – Tucker, who is known of snatching away food -- was sitting nearby
"He's known in the family to be the food burglar," Matykowski told Wisconsin television station WAOW.
Suddenly, her granddaughter’s popsicle was missing -- stick and all -- and Tucker was licking his lips. But moments later, Tucker became ill and threw up the treat.

Two day later, Tucker vomited again. When Matykowski was cleaning it up, she glanced at the paper towel and there was a stunning surprise.
“I look in the paper towel, and here is my wedding ring. I kid you not. My wedding ring was in Tucker’s puke,” she said told the television station.
The family’s veterinarian told Matykowski that the popsicle’s stick may have dislodged the ring inside the dog and the ring eventually caused Tucker to become sick to his stomach.
“I’m just elated,” she told the television station. “He threw up on the carpeting, and I don’t even care.”
When asked if she was upset with Tucker, Matykowski reply was just the opposite.
“I have my wedding ring back, and Tucker is big dog on campus right now,” she said. “He’s my hero.”
Her friends think so, too.
"Friends have said, 'I want a dog that throws up diamonds!' Who wouldn't, right?" she said. ( waow.com)
