If so, you're in luck. You've hit the "dad bod" jackpot.

"The dad bod is a nice balance between a beer gut and working out," writes Mackenzie Pearson of Clemson University.

In her essay for The Odyssey titled "Why Girls Love the Dad Bod," Pearson explains the physique is something that makes "boys seem more human, natural and attractive."

Those who proudly sport the dad bod aren't overweight, but they're far from twigs too.

Pearson details a few reasons, in detail, as to why the "dad bod" works.

The Atlantic notes that the term "turns the tables" on gender relations and squarely puts men in women's shoes by creating a type.

In just a little over a month's time, the concept has gone viral.

Some notable "dad bods," according to Pearson's interview with Slate, are Chris Pratt ("before he got all bulked up for that movie"), Jon Hamm and "any dad celebrity, for the most part, is probably going to have a dad body," she said.

And while Pearson primarily writes from the perspective of young college-aged men having the dad bod, actual dads themselves can't be proud of their own as well.
