A woman was killed after her vehicle was hit by a box truck in Douglasville on Saturday night, authorities said.

Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News the box truck hit a gray Honda sedan, pushing it into the parking lot of a liquor store near the intersection of Wenona Street and Bill Arp Road. The vehicle ended up pinned between the truck and the store’s brick wall.

The wreck trapped a woman inside the sedan, and a witness said she tried to save her.

“I ran up and stuck my arms in the car and pushed all of the boxes and debris she had in her car off of her,” Kayla Huggins told Channel 2. “She gasped for breath, and when she gasped for breath, she kind of stopped moving.”

The woman, who police later identified as 41-year-old Stormy Ledesma, died shortly after. A third vehicle was also involved in the incident, and the other two drivers and a passenger only suffered minor injuries, Channel 2 reported.

Police said "speed may be a factor (but) no charges have been filed pending completion of the accident investigation," the department said in a Facebook post.
