Tieshounda Bell has been working at Waffle House restaurants in metro Atlanta for seven years. But it was a first when an armed man took her car and phone Thursday while she was on a break.

“I’m scared, traumatized,” she told Channel 2 Action News.

She said she was working the night shift at the restaurant on Flat Shoals Road in Union City when she went outside to take a break. The incident happened when she walked toward her Chevrolet Impala, which was parked in front of the restaurant, according to Channel 2.

“As I was approaching my car to get in, he ended up walking up and had the gun in the door trying to keep me from closing it,” Bell said, “and was like, ‘Get out, give me the keys.’”

She thinks the man was watching and waiting for a chance to catch her off-guard.

“When I saw the gun, I’m like, my life fixing to be taken,” she said.

Waffle House released a surveillance photo of the man that was apparently involved.

The manager of the gas station next door said a man sprayed the front window of his store with a fire extinguisher, the station reported. The manager said he saw the same man get into the stolen car.

Bell wants her car back — and to feel safe.

“I work hard for everything I got,” she said, “and to just get something taken from me that I worked hard for, it’s ridiculous.”
