Suspect in custody for allegedly shooting, killing man in Jonesboro

Authorities arrested a suspect Saturday who is accused of shooting and killing a man in Jonesboro Friday night.

Joshua Doyle Holmes, 26, was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Javier Woods in the 700 block of Pointe South Parkway, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Clayton County deputies and SWAT team members found Holmes in a home on Grayson Drive in Riverdale, the release said.

Holmes remains in the Clayton County jail, the release said.
