Several students saw the handgun, which was visible in her open purse, Pickens County Board of Education spokesman Carlton Wilson said in a news release. The handgun was never removed from her purse.

Gungle was arrested by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and charged with having a gun in a school safety zone, Channel 2 Action News reported.
