Roswell police say four people were found with items they allegedly stole from a department store — and the shopping cart they allegedly carted the items out with.

Shortly before noon May 26, police were called to the Kohl’s on West Crossville Road, according to the incident report.

A witness told police she saw a woman go into the store, put merchandise into a cart, then leave. The witness gave police a partial tag number, according to the report.

The woman got into a tan SUV, and a man then got out and threw the entire shopping cart full of items into the back of the car, according to the report. The man got back in the car, which drove away.

While the officer was gathering the information, a shoplifting call went out for the Target on Holcomb Bridge Road, according to the report.

The officer at Kohl’s relayed the vehicle information, and an officer located the vehicle and did a traffic stop. The stolen Kohl’s shopping cart and merchandise were inside the car, visible from the outside, according to the report.

Four people from Austell were arrested and charged with shoplifting. Vernett Byron, Deontray Davenport, Otis Moore and Iseah Robinson bonded out of the Fulton County jail, Channel 2 Action News reported.
