Ja’Carlos Jeffries stood outside a southwest Atlanta food mart on July 13 as he was pierced with two bullets and killed.
Two weeks later, Atlanta police still have no leads on who shot and killed the 19-year-old.
A $2,000 CrimeStoppers award is being offered in what police called a targeted shooting, according to a press release Thursday.
Police said the shooter hid behind a building and pulled a gun on Jefferies, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
Jeffries sustained two gunshot wounds and later died at Grady Memorial Hospital, according to a police report.
“It is believed that the suspect fled from the scene on foot,” Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee said. Police believe the gunman knew Jeffries, who was with a friend at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Atlanta police. Tipsters can also remain anonymous, and be eligible for the reward by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
