After Rob "Vanilla Ice" Van Winkle was arrested in February on burglary charges, he has now announced the lawyer who will represent him, according to the Sun Sentinel.
That lawyer is Bradford Cohen, of "The Apprentice" fame. He's also commented as a legal expert on CNN, NBC and FOX.
Cohen styles himself as a "courtroom pugilist" who has also represented basketball star Dennis Rodman and rapper Earl Simmons, better known as DMX.
Van Winkle insists that the incident that led to his arrest is a "misunderstanding" and has been "blown out of proportion."
Cohen touted Van Winkle's charity work. He was named Wellington's "Outstanding Citizen of the Year" last year for his community service. Just days after his arrest, he visited a disabled child in Palm Bay to help build a therapeutic pool.
Yesterday, he presented two awards at the Palm Beach International Film Festiva's Student Showcase.
In recent years, he has starred on the DIY Network show "The Vanilla Ice Project," in which he and his entourage buy, fix up and resell Palm Beach County homes. The home that police say he burglarized is near one of the homes being fixed up for his show.
