A Brooklyn man was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after police said his mother’s nurse bit off his fingertips after the man attacked her.
Patrick Fortune, 52, "reached his breaking point" following the death of his elderly mother from a heart attack and allegedly lashed out on the woman's nurse, the New York Daily News reports.
According to the Daily News, Fortune was “inconsolable and suffering from schizophrenia” the day after his mother had passed, and he accused Rose Ferrier, his mother’s live-in nurse, of “murdering his mom.”
Fortune allegedly attempted to choke Ferrier by placing his hands around her mouth, but the nurse managed to bit down on his fingertips with “several severed fingers” and “one or two of which she may have swallowed,” the Daily News added.
Ferrier suffered cuts to her ears and eyes, but isn't facing any criminal charges.
