Prosecutor’s son charged in revenge porn case

The son of a North Georgia prosecutor put nude images of his former girlfriend online in a case of revenge porn, officials said.

Roman Christopher Poston, 25, of Dalton, is the son of Bert Poston, district attorney for the judicial circuit that includes Whitfield and Murray counties, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.

After Roman Poston’s ex-girlfriend reported an alleged burglary involving him to Murray County deputies April 25, she also said he posted two nude photos and a video of her online, according to the newspaper.

She said Roman Poston put the images on a website called myex.com and sent a link to her aunt, who passed them to her, the newspaper reported. The sheriff's office then contacted the GBI, who arrested him Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of electronic transmission of a video or photo depicting nudity or sexually explicit content without consent.

Roman Poston was released from the Murray County Jail on $1,000 bond a few hours after his arrest, the Times Free Press reported.

The so-called revenge porn law attempts to prevent the effort to shame a former boyfriend or girlfriend by posting their nude images online.

The Georgia Attorney General's Office will assign a prosecutor to the case because Bert Poston’s office has recused itself.
