A man was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly brandished a sword and attacked a woman while he was holding a child, according to a Cobb County arrest warrant.

Griffin Nathanial Frank, 28, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody by Marietta police Sept. 11 in connection with the incident, which happened at a home in the 1400 block of Evanston Lane, according to jail records.

According to the warrant, Frank and a woman were arguing in the home about 10 a.m. when he picked up a sword. The cause of the dispute is not clear.

Frank allegedly walked toward the woman “while pointing the sword at said victim and making stabbing motions,” the warrant said.

The warrant said Frank was holding a child while he wielded the weapon. The age of the child is not known.

When the woman tried to call 911, Frank allegedly took the phone away from her and hung it up, the warrant said.

Frank was charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor obstructing or hindering a person making emergency telephone call and misdemeanor cruelty to children. He was booked into the Cobb County jail and released hours later after posting a $11,220 bond.
