The 50th Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will be held on New Year’s Day in Atlanta. And along with the new location at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, enhanced security measures will be in place.
Fans are asked to arrive early and only bring clear bags, game organizers said Thursday.
“The overall safety and security of our fans, teams and event personnel is our number-one priority as we prepare for game day and all of the events leading up to our 50th Anniversary game,” said Gary Stokan, CEO and president of Peach Bowl, Inc. “We urge all fans to be aware of the policy and follow it carefully to make entrance into the new stadium as easy as possible for everyone.”
Permisable bags include those that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, and are no larger than 12x6x12 inches in size or one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags. Small clutch bags are also allowed.
Diaper bags are not allowed, but an exception will be made for medically necessary items after they are inspected. Binoculars and cameras are allowed, but cannot be in cases.
Auburn and Central Florida will play in Monday’s Peach Bowl, which will be televised on ESPN. Game time is 12:30 p.m.
