Gov. Deal orders flags at half-staff to honor slain Locust Grove officer

Officer Chase Maddox was killed in the line of duty last Friday.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has ordered flags be flown at half-staff Friday at the Capitol and in Henry County to honor Locust Grove police Officer Chase Maddox.

Maddox, 26, was killed Feb. 9 while assisting Henry deputies serve an arrest warrant. His wife, Alex, delivered the couple’s second son on Tuesday.

The funeral for Maddox will be at 11 a.m .Saturday at Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough.
