A former Fulton County sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty to two counts of false imprisonment for groping women inside the courthouse, the district attorney’s office said Monday.

Nakia Dorsey, 42, was in uniform when he groped two separate women who were defendants in 2011 and 2012.

During the first incident Oct. 3, 2011, Dorsey escorted a 20-year-old woman into an audio visual room attached to the courtroom by saying he needed to confiscate her cellphone. While inside, Dorsey placed the victim’s hand on his groin, groped the woman’s breast and asked her to take topless pictures, according to investigators. When the victim refused, he let her go.

In the second incident May 30, 2012, Dorsey escorted a 27-year-old woman from a first-floor courtroom to an empty fifth-floor courtroom and also said he needed to confiscate her cellphone. When they entered the courtroom, Dorsey led the woman into a closet and blocked the door, the DA’s office said.

Dorsey exposed himself and then groped the woman while demanding a nude photo of her, and he blocked the door to prevent her from leaving, investigators said.

In court Monday during Dorsey’s plea, one of the victims read a statement.

“You will never understand how you’ve impacted my life and my rights as a woman,” the woman said.

Dorsey, a six-year veteran of the sheriff’s office before his arrest, was sentenced to five years to serve six months in prison and must not have contact with either victim. He must also undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation.

As part of his sentence, the court revoked Dorsey’s certification that gives him the authority to work as a law enforcement officer.
