A father of three children was shot and killed Monday night after an argument over a gas station parking spot in DeKalb County.
According to a store employee who spoke with Channel 2 Action News, the shooter was moving from a pump and trying to back into a parking space, when the disagreement over the spot began at a Chevron gas station on Flat Shoals Road.
Police say the shooter followed 38-year-old Timothy Hill into the store and shot him.
Hill was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
“It’s really senseless at the end of the day. It’s something that could have been completely avoided,” Hill’s nephew, Ron Walker, told Channel 2.
Family members say Hill was a father of three and was with his brother when he was shot.
“It’s a big loss for us because he was more of our extra strength. He was out extra push,” Walker said. “He was a hard man, a stern man, but a very loving man at the same time.”
Police say the shooter left the scene in a black sedan.
Employees say the shooting was caught on video.
