A video of a motorcyclist parking his vehicle on the white stripes next to a handicapped-accessible parking spot went viral, leading to him losing his job, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The Douglas County man, who remains unnamed, had allegedly parked there before, said Kim Harrison, the woman who attempted to park in the spot, Channel 2 reported.

She then decided to record and post the encounter, which has amassed over 9,000 shares and almost half a million views on Facebook, according to Channel 2.

“This is the same person within two weeks that has decided to block the access ramp for a wheelchair,” Harrison told the news station.

The video shows the man calling the woman ignorant and using explicit language after she asks him to move out of the spot. The incident took place on May 21, Channel 2 reported.

Harrison said she has a spinal injury, which requires her to be in a wheelchair.

“Nobody accidentally parks in a handicapped spot or the hash marks. It is something you intentionally do,” Harrison said to Channel 2. “He actually came around to the driver’s side and started giving me the finger and said, ‘Don’t you have better things to do?’ and I said, ‘I stopped to eat dinner here tonight.’”

Harrison ended up calling 911, which prompted the man to move. The Douglasville Police Department saw the viral video and ended up citing the man, Channel 2 reported.

“I am grateful that they took action. I am a little hesitant it took going viral for someone to take it seriously,” Harrison told the news station. “Even if you are not in a wheelchair in your car, you still need that area to load the wheelchair.”

The man would not comment to Channel 2 on the incident but did accuse Harrison of harassing him in the video.

Channel 2 did get in contact with his former employer, who said he was fired because of the viral video, which his former boss said did not represent the company’s views.
