A disabled veteran was ambushed at gunpoint and attacked by three men who stole his car, police said.

Darryl Grant allegedly has a concussion, black eye and broken hip from when three men allegedly hit him in the face, kicked him and knocked him to the ground during an armed robbery in April, Channel 2 Action News reported.

One of the three alleged attacked is in custody, while the other two are still on the run, Channel 2 reported. Police said a dropped cell phone and hat at the scene might help identify the suspects.

Demetris Carter, of Atlanta, was charged with aggravated battery, theft by taking and robbery, according to jail records. He’s currently at the Cobb County Jail.

Cobb County police told Channel 2 Grant was ambushed in a Rodeway Inn parking lot in Austell after he dropped off some food for his friend.

The police report, obtained by Channel 2, said the three men got out of their silver Mercedes-Benz vehicle, pointed a gun at Grant and demanded cash. Then they allegedly attacked him, stealing Grant’s silver necklace and car.

The search for the other two unidentified suspects is ongoing.
