The unusually high bond of $10 million for Michael Jones is an indication of the heinous accusations against him.
Cops arrested Jones for allegedly "torturing or cruelly beating" his 7-year-old son to death. Officers were called to the home when someone reported Jones shooting at his wife.
When they arrived at the near quarter-million-dollar home, they found a house a caretaker described as “filthy, the kids lived in filth. Trash everywhere, dried food all over the house.”
After a tip of a possible body, police searched a barn on the property and found the decomposing body of a child. Even so, the story doesn't end there. A babysitter claims the family added pigs to the barn this fall. WSFA writes, "a police source says investigators fear the remains are the result of the child being fed to pigs after being beaten to death.
Reports say eight children, ages 1 to 11, lived in the home with Jones. Seven of those kids are now in protective custody while the medical examiner works to ID the remains.
Jones faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery and child abuse. A charge of murder could be added as the investigation continues.
